Türkiye is preparing to equip its unmanned surface vessels with indigenous air defense missiles, creating a highly flexible and cost-effective protection shield for major warships, ports and critical coastal infrastructure.

The successful launch of the 100+ km range SIPER 1-D missile from the national vertical launch system MİDLAS marks a new era for Türkiye, placing it among the few nations capable of firing their own long-range air defense missiles from domestically built warships.
