BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye has reached another major milestone in its indigenous air defense capability. Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), announced that the SİPER Product-1 long-range air defense system has successfully completed its Series Production Acceptance Tests, marking a key step toward full operational deployment. This achievement confirms the system’s reliability and maturity in field conditions while further consolidating its role within the Turkish Armed Forces’ inventory.
Görgün emphasized that this progress represents a critical threshold in Türkiye’s multi-layered air defense architecture, known as “Çelik Kubbe” (Steel Dome). Designed to protect the nation’s “Sky Homeland” (Gök Vatan), SİPER Product-1 serves as the high-altitude layer of Türkiye’s defense shield. With its extended range, precision guidance, and capability to intercept diverse aerial threats, SİPER strengthens the nation’s deterrent power and enhances protection over strategic assets.
The completion of the series production phase not only validates the system’s performance but also ensures production continuity, logistical stability, and maintainability. By standardizing production lines and integrating operational feedback into the design, Türkiye now has a sustainable framework for serial manufacturing of SİPER units. The system integrates seamlessly with Türkiye’s national radar, sensor, and command-control networks — offering real-time coordination with other layers of the defense ecosystem such as HİSAR-O and HİSAR-U.
In his statement, Görgün praised the collective effort of Turkish engineers, institutions, and industry partners, noting: “With determination and national cooperation, we are building a fully indigenous air defense network that leaves no gaps against any threat. SİPER embodies the strength of Türkiye’s defense industry.” Concluding his message with the words, “Our Sky Homeland is safer, Türkiye is more deterrent, and the future is in trusted hands,” Görgün highlighted that SİPER Product-1’s operationalization marks a new phase in Türkiye’s path toward complete air defense autonomy.
