BREAKING NEWS
Defense Industry Agency (SSB) President Haluk Görgün announced that the firing test of the HİSAR-D RF air defense missile, launched from TCG İSTANBUL via ROKETSAN’s National Vertical Launch System (MİDLAS), was successfully completed. Conducted off the coast of Sinop, the test highlighted the seamless integration of national radar, fire control, data link, and seeker technologies within a naval combat environment.
In the firing scenario, the target was first detected by ASELSAN’s CENK 400-N 4D Search Radar, followed by engagement initiation through the AKREP 300-N Fire Control Radar. The HİSAR-D Fire Control System coordinated mid-course guidance via the GÜDÜ 200-MG Ground Data Link and the missile’s onboard data link, enabling continuous two-way communication. During the terminal phase, the AGRAS RF seeker head locked onto the target and achieved a successful intercept. This precise coordination among national systems ensured a flawless engagement sequence.
Beyond its technical success, the test also represented a milestone for Türkiye’s growing defense ecosystem, showcasing the ability of national companies—ROKETSAN, ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, and STM—to develop and integrate advanced naval combat systems collaboratively. President Görgün emphasized that repeated trials reinforce both system reliability and the spirit of cooperation within the Turkish defense sector.
Designed for naval platforms, these integrated solutions provide modern and adaptable defense capabilities. MİDLAS’s modular structure allows for the deployment of multiple missile types, enhancing the flexibility and operational resilience of naval vessels. Following the test, the SSB and participating defense firms praised the efforts of engineers and naval personnel, highlighting the strategic importance of indigenous technologies in strengthening Türkiye’s maritime defense posture.
