BREAKING NEWS
Applications have opened for the “classroom-free school” launched under a protocol between Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) and Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education (MoNE). Hosted inside MKE’s Kırıkkale Ammunition Factory campus, the pilot accepts candidates with 2025 LGS scores. Students apply via the Kırıkkale Provincial Directorate of National Education’s Vocational Education Branch by July 31. Required documents include the application form, the LGS result certificate (June 15), one biometric photo taken within the last six months, front–back ID photocopy, a detailed family registry extract, and proof of residence. Technical interviews will follow the document screening, and 30 students will be selected in the first intake.
The model delivers learning directly on the production line in the “machine and technology design” field. Guided by subject teachers, students will train side-by-side with MKE personnel four days a week in a master-apprentice format, while theoretical courses are held within the Ammunition Factory campus. During hands-on training, students will use the same personal protective equipment as MKE blue-collar staff and benefit from meal and shuttle services. MKE will cover all basic needs—stationery, clothing, transport, and food—and pay students a stipend equal to 30% of the minimum wage.
The pathway culminates in certifications and employment. Those who pass the exam at the end of 11th grade will receive an apprenticeship certificate; those who pass the 12th-grade skills exam will graduate with a vocational high school diploma plus a mastership certificate. Graduates who also pass MKE’s professional competency exam will be hired directly by MKE. Additionally, students who complete the program and are admitted to one of the top three universities in the relevant field will receive scholarships throughout university, internship opportunities at MKE, and entry into a candidate-engineer program in their final year.
By embedding education within real manufacturing, the classroom-free approach accelerates school-to-industry transition, instills safety, quality, and lean practices early, and strengthens workforce pipelines for the defense-industry ecosystem. For MKE, it supports measurable competencies, sustainable employment, and a more resilient supply chain while offering students a funded, skills-first route into high-value industry roles.
