BREAKING NEWS
A significant leadership transition has taken place at ULAK Haberleşme, the company established to reduce Türkiye’s dependence on foreign communication technologies and to develop secure, national network infrastructures. Sami Duman has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer, replacing Ruşen Kömürcü. Duman will officially assume his duties on March 2, marking the beginning of a new strategic phase for the company.
A graduate of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Middle East Technical University (METU), Duman began his professional career at ASELSAN, one of Türkiye’s leading defense industry corporations. Throughout his career, he has been involved in advanced defense electronics and communication systems projects. His technical background and industry experience are expected to significantly strengthen ULAK’s capabilities, particularly in national base station technologies, 4.5G, and upcoming 5G infrastructure projects.
Simultaneously with the appointment, Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) shared important updates regarding the company’s strategic roadmap. SSB President Haluk Görgün attended the ULAK Board Meeting, where several critical topics were discussed. These included artificial intelligence-driven network optimization, enhanced data analytics capabilities, deeper cybersecurity integration within communication infrastructures, and the revision of flexible and secure communication architectures for defense industry projects.
In the upcoming period, ULAK is expected to accelerate its R&D efforts in 5G and future 6G technologies. AI-supported network management, increased cyber resilience for critical infrastructures, and secure communication solutions tailored for defense applications will be among the company’s top priorities. As Türkiye advances toward its digital sovereignty goals, ULAK Communications is anticipated to maintain its pivotal role in both civilian and military communication infrastructures.
