BREAKING NEWS
ROKETSAN, one of the leading companies of the Turkish defense industry in missile, rocket and advanced technology systems, has achieved a significant international success by becoming one of the contractors in NATO’s new defense capability projects. ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci announced that the company will take part in several defense capability projects to be carried out under the 2026 NATO Defense Industry Forum. This development shows that Türkiye’s defense industry products and technologies are becoming more visible at the NATO level.
Murat İkinci stated on social media that they attended the signing ceremony for the agreements covering the projects in which ROKETSAN is included among the contractors. According to the announcement, the company will serve as a contractor in the Striking Power Capabilities, Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems, and Space and Surveillance Capabilities projects. These three areas are of critical importance in NATO’s new defense architecture, particularly in terms of deterrence, early warning, multi-layered air defense and precision strike capabilities.
ROKETSAN’s involvement in these projects demonstrates that Türkiye’s progress in missile systems, rocket technologies, precision guidance, long-range strike capability and air defense solutions is gaining recognition on international platforms. In today’s modern security environment, it is not enough to develop advanced platforms; these systems must also be integrated in line with NATO’s joint operational requirements. ROKETSAN’s role as a contractor in NATO projects stands out as a strategic step showing that the company’s engineering capacity and product family are being evaluated as compatible with Alliance standards.
The Striking Power Capabilities project is notable for efforts aimed at strengthening NATO’s long-range precision strike and deterrence capacity. Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems represent another critical area, focusing on the development of a layered defense approach against ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and various airborne threats. The Space and Surveillance Capabilities project provides a framework for achieving strategic superiority in reconnaissance, early warning, target detection and situational awareness on the modern battlefield.
Murat İkinci stated that these collaborations will strengthen the joint defense capabilities of Türkiye and NATO. It was also emphasized that ROKETSAN will continue to contribute to these projects with its advanced technologies and deterrent systems. The company underlined that it will keep producing for strong defense, advanced technology and collective security.
This development shows that Türkiye’s defense industry role within NATO is not limited to being a user or supplier, but has moved to a direct contractor position in critical capability projects. ROKETSAN’s responsibilities in NATO projects will both increase the export and cooperation potential of the Turkish defense industry and make Türkiye’s technological contribution within the Alliance more visible. Contributions in the fields of missiles, air defense, space and surveillance create a strong link between Türkiye’s strategic deterrence vision and NATO’s collective security needs.
