BREAKING NEWS
Turkey's defense and aerospace sector demonstrated strong export performance in October 2026. According to data shared by the Defense Industry Agency, the sector recorded a 61% increase compared to October of the previous year, achieving 1.14 billion dollars in exports. This figure demonstrates that monthly export volumes have surpassed the 1 billion dollar threshold.
The sector's performance during the nine-month period from January through October was equally positive. Turkish defense and aerospace exports for the January-October period reached 8.05 billion dollars, representing a 21% increase compared to the same period in 2025. These figures indicate that the sector's export growth is not limited to a single month but reflects a consistent upward trend throughout the year.
When examining the trailing 12-month period, the sector's export success becomes even more pronounced. The Defense Industry Agency reported that total exports over the past 12 months increased by 37%, reaching 11.357 billion dollars. This figure demonstrates that the Turkish defense industry ecosystem is strengthening its position in global markets and expanding its export potential continuously.
Reviewing monthly export data for 2026 reveals variable performance across the year. January recorded 554.345 million dollars, February 552.707 million dollars, March 801.486 million dollars, April 962.332 million dollars, May 992.062 million dollars, June 802.81 million dollars, July 1.12 billion dollars, August 511.4 million dollars, and September 634 million dollars. October's 1.14 billion dollars in exports ranks among the highest monthly figures achieved during the year.
The Turkish defense and aerospace sector has strengthened its competitive position in international markets through investments in domestically developed and national technologies. Systems developed by major organizations including ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TUSAŞ, and Baykar are experiencing increasing demand in global markets. This export growth represents a direct result of the sector's expanded research and development activities and increased localization rates. The sector's success reinforces Turkey's positioning as a regional and global player in defense technologies.
