Turkey's defense and aerospace sector exports reached $10.9 billion in the past 12 months, marking a 47.1% increase. Sales to NATO countries account for 57.3% of total exports.

Selçuk Bayraktar, chairman of Baykar, presented the capabilities of the unmanned combat aircraft Kızılelma to a NATO Parliamentary Assembly delegation. Bayraktar emphasized that unmanned platforms represent a distinct category from piloted aircraft and will shape future combat environments.

China's modular electromagnetic aircraft launch system (EMALS), developed by Beijing Institute of Technology, successfully launched an unmanned aerial vehicle from a truck-mounted configuration. The system, composed of three separate truck units, can be rapidly deployed to maritime and land platforms.

Huğlu Savunma AŞ is exporting its 9mm "Mohaç" submachine gun and "Ovis" precision rifle to countries including Germany, Poland, Malaysia, and the United States. The company targets 20 percent growth this year.

Parliamentary leaders attending the NATO Parliamentary Summit visited Baykar's Özdemir Bayraktar National Technology Center. The visit took place a week ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara.

Defense Minister Yaşar Güler announced that Turkey is evaluating the potential acquisition of Patriot air defense systems from the United States and Franco-Italian SAMP-T platforms to strengthen its air defense capabilities. Ankara emphasized its openness to cooperation involving technology transfer and joint production arrangements.

The Pentagon is accelerating its Low-Cost Interceptor (LCI) program under the xTech initiative to provide cost-effective solutions against asymmetric threats. Initial live-fire tests are scheduled for fall 2026.
