BREAKING NEWS
Thales announced the introduction of its HexaForce artificial intelligence-powered command and control system as a solution for the Gulf region. The system is designed to accelerate operational decision-making processes and provide strategic advantage. Patrick Moreau, Vice President of Multi-Domain Operations at Thales, stated that an open standards-based solution is necessary for countries to protect their sovereignty, emphasizing that HexaForce is a suitable platform for the Gulf region.
Thales is a globally operating defense technology company specializing in radar, communications, electronic warfare systems, and command and control platforms. The company has extensive experience in developing NATO-compliant systems. HexaForce represents the outcome of Thales' expertise and capabilities in artificial intelligence technology. The system was unveiled on September 17, 2026, and developed to address the operational requirements of NATO and allied nations.
HexaForce processes and analyzes vast amounts of data in very short timeframes, converting critical information into meaningful results. The system uses agent-based artificial intelligence and large language model (LLM) technology to provide operators with targeting recommendations. This enhances situational awareness for decision-makers, enables faster threat detection, and facilitates more accurate and timely decisions. The platform is designed to be applicable at both strategic and tactical command levels.
From the perspective of the Turkish defense industry, AI-powered command and control systems are critical technologies that increase operational effectiveness and decision-making speed. Through their large data processing capacity and real-time analysis capabilities, such systems have become fundamental components of modern military operations. In the global defense sector, NATO-compliant command and control systems are becoming increasingly important for ensuring interoperability among allies. Thales' open standards-based approach enables countries to maintain data sovereignty while leveraging system capabilities.
HexaForce was tested during the CWIX NATO exercise held in Poland in June 2026, achieving successful results. Thales stated that live trial phases will pave the way for full-scale deployment targeting an increase in daily processed targets from 100 to 1,000. Regarding joint production with Gulf countries, Moreau proposed an approach focused on strengthening local AI development capacity and establishing local capabilities recognized as independent by the nation. This strategy aligns with technology transfer and localization efforts.
