Pakistan’s Minister for Industries and Production, Tenvir Hussain, announced that Turkey and Pakistan are preparing to launch major joint defense projects, including aircraft, naval platforms, and advanced weapons systems.

Under the Utility Helicopter Program, 109 Black Hawk helicopters will be produced in Turkey under Sikorsky license, marking a major step in integrating Turkish industry into the global supply chain.

Turkey’s defense and aerospace sector exported 255.9 million dollars in the first two months of 2016, achieving over 30% growth compared to the previous year.

Turkey’s Undersecretariat for Defense Industries is preparing a new Industrialization Directive to better support local industry and SMEs. Offset mechanisms will be modernized to enhance national capabilities.

Turkish Parliamentary Defense Committee Chairman Faruk Özlü stated that Türkiye has undergone a significant defense industry transformation over the past 13 years, with many major projects entering serial production. He emphasized that Türkiye is now a global player in defense.

The updated Sanayileşme Portal by SSM now hosts 366 companies and 1,349 product entries, strengthening local participation and expanding Turkey’s defense supply chain.
