BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye has taken a significant step to reinforce not only its defence production capacity but also its intellectual and academic influence in the global defence ecosystem. Within this framework, the Journal of Defence and Security Industries: Strategy and Technology (JDSI) has officially begun publication under the coordination of the Savunma Sanayii Akademi. The journal is designed to institutionalize academic knowledge in defence and security while bringing strategic thought and technological innovation together on a single, internationally visible platform.
Commenting on the launch, Defence Industry President Haluk Görgün emphasized that the defence industry goes far beyond the production of platforms and systems. He noted that it is one of the core domains where a nation builds its strategic mindset, establishes technological sovereignty, and projects its vision for the future. According to Görgün, JDSI is not merely focused on existing technologies but serves as a forward-looking intellectual platform that anticipates, shapes, and guides future developments. As an open-access, peer-reviewed journal, JDSI aims to foster an ecosystem where knowledge is freely produced and transformed into strategic impact.
Positioned as more than a traditional academic journal, JDSI also targets policymakers, decision-makers, researchers, and industry professionals within the defence and security sectors. It publishes high-impact studies across a broad thematic spectrum, including artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, electronic warfare, cyber security, and space systems, offering strategic depth and multidisciplinary perspectives.
JDSI is also described as one of the intellectual and scientific pillars of the National Competency Initiative led by the Defence Industry Presidency. By publishing in English and adopting an open-access policy, the journal seeks to contribute to global scientific literature while sharing Türkiye’s national expertise with the international community. Researchers, professionals, and students worldwide can access JDSI free of charge, reinforcing Türkiye’s voice and visibility in international defence and security discussions.
