Türkiye continues to strengthen its expertise in electronic warfare technologies, a critical component of modern defense strategies. On December 28, ASELSAN delivered the updated version of the ILGAR Electronic Attack System to the Turkish Armed Forces. The development was announced by Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, through his social media account.
Electronic warfare systems are considered essential for modern armies, and the ILGAR system represents a major step in Türkiye’s pursuit of defense independence. The upgraded version offers improved performance and advanced electronic attack capabilities, specifically designed to disrupt and neutralize enemy communication and radar assets.
The integration of ILGAR into the Turkish Armed Forces provides a significant boost to their electronic warfare strength. At the same time, it reflects Türkiye’s determination to develop indigenous defense solutions that not only meet national requirements but also increase competitiveness on the international stage.
ASELSAN’s latest delivery highlights a broader vision for the future, where similar systems will be integrated into multiple platforms. This approach is expected to expand Türkiye’s electronic warfare capacity and strengthen its position as a strong and independent actor in this critical domain.
