One of the most advanced projects of the Turkish defense industry, ANKA-3 is a next-generation unmanned combat aircraft developed by TUSAŞ. Powered by a turbofan engine and featuring low observability (stealth) characteristics, ANKA-3 goes beyond conventional UCAV concepts with its tailless, V-shaped aerodynamic design and internal weapon bays optimized to reduce radar cross-section.
First revealed to the public with design visuals on 24 December 2022, ANKA-3 quickly progressed into the prototype phase. Following the successful flight of a smaller-scale prototype, the full-scale ANKA-3 was rolled out on 18 March 2023 and officially took to the skies for its maiden flight on 28 December 2023.
With a maximum take-off weight of approximately 7 tons, ANKA-3 offers a payload capacity of 1,200 kg, a maximum speed of 835 km/h, and a service ceiling of 40,000 ft. Its internal weapon carriage enables effective air-to-ground and air-to-air missions while maintaining a low radar signature, and its turbofan engine provides the speed and responsiveness required for high-threat operational environments.
Furthermore, ANKA-3 is designed to operate from naval surface combatants, enhancing its flexibility for expeditionary missions and joint force operations. As a force multiplier, ANKA-3 represents a significant leap forward in Türkiye’s unmanned combat aircraft capabilities and highlights the country’s growing technological competence in advanced air systems.
