BREAKING NEWS
J-600T Yıldırım is a ballistic missile system developed and produced by Turkey's defense company Roketsan. Designed to target high-value points such as enemy air defense units, C3I centers, and logistical facilities, this system emerged as a result of collaborations with China and Pakistan, deriving from the B-611 SRBM. Equipped with various range options, this system plays a significant role in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Development and History
Collaborations and Origins: Turkey began joint ballistic missile development efforts with China and Pakistan in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This initiative gained momentum following the failure of negotiations for the license and technology transfer of the American M-270 MLRS artillery rocket system.
Kasırga and B-611 SRBM: In 1997, Turkey signed an agreement for the licensed production of China's WS-1A and WS-1B rockets, leading to a similar agreement for the licensed production of the B-611 SRBM system.
Development of J-600T: The design of J-600T is based on the B-611 SRBM, and its range, performance, and design have been enhanced by Roketsan.
