BREAKING NEWS
In 2025, Türkiye’s defense and aerospace industry exports continued their strong growth trend compared with previous years. Between January and September, the sector reached approximately 6 billion USD in exports, and with the 708 million USD announced for October, total exports for the first ten months rose to 6.7 billion USD. This amount represents about 3.5% of Türkiye’s total exports. The single-month performance of 574 million USD recorded in September also demonstrates the sector’s sustained upward momentum.
This acceleration stems from the transformation of Türkiye’s defense industry from a traditional arms supplier into a producer of high-technology, high-value defense systems. Increasing global demand for drones, electronic warfare systems, air-defense platforms, and advanced munitions continues to push export figures upward. At the same time, the sector’s export value per kilogram has risen significantly — reaching an average of 65 USD/kg, far above the national export average of roughly 1.5 USD/kg. This indicates that Türkiye is strengthening both the volume and value of its defense exports.
After setting an all-time record of 7.2 billion USD in 2024, the industry is expected to maintain its momentum in 2025, with projections suggesting exports may surpass 8 billion USD by year-end. The sector — which stood at just 248 million USD in 2002 — now consists of over 3,500 companies, more than 1,400 active projects, and a domestic production rate of 82%, placing Türkiye among the rising global defense suppliers.
Overall, 2025 marks a year of expansion in exports, strengthening of domestic capability, and growing competitiveness in global markets for Türkiye’s defense industry. This momentum is enhancing not only national defense capacity but also the economic and strategic value the industry brings to the country.
