BREAKING NEWS
TÜMOSAN has announced that its fully indigenous tactical wheeled armored vehicle, PUSAT, has successfully completed international-standard mine blast tests. General Manager Halim Tosun stated that the company has effectively transferred its long-standing expertise in the agricultural machinery sector to the defense industry. He noted that PUSAT, whose engine, transmission, drivetrain and mission equipment are nearly 100% domestically produced, has now advanced through prototype development and is undergoing standardization tests before entering service with Türkiye’s defense forces.
Tosun emphasized that TÜMOSAN’s contributions to the defense sector extend beyond land platforms. The company has been developing critical power systems for both naval and air platforms, including engines for towing vessels used by the Turkish Naval Forces and rewind motors for aircraft arresting systems employed by the Turkish Air Force. These projects demonstrate TÜMOSAN’s expanding role in reducing foreign dependency across multiple areas of national defense.
In addition to its defense initiatives, the company has experienced notable growth in agricultural machinery production. With the increased importance of agriculture during the pandemic, Türkiye shifted its focus to the domestic market, resulting in a significant rise in tractor sales. TÜMOSAN, which manufactures nearly 200 models ranging from 50 to 105 horsepower, achieved a 113% increase in sales between April and September 2020 compared to the previous year. Overall tractor sales across Türkiye rose by 117% during the same period.
The success of PUSAT’s mine blast tests further strengthens TÜMOSAN’s position in the Turkish defense industry, proving the vehicle’s reliability and enhancing the country’s capacity to field advanced, domestically manufactured armored platforms.
