BREAKING NEWS
FNSS has established itself as a leading provider of tracked armored vehicles for the Turkish Armed Forces and allied nations since 1989. The company's journey, which began with the ZMA-15, has evolved into the production of medium-class tank exports such as KAPLAN MT and KAPLAN ZPT, the KUNDUZ amphibious engineering vehicle, the ZAHA amphibious assault vehicle, and autonomous hybrid solutions. To date, the company has delivered over 4,500 tracked vehicles to Turkey and six allied nations.
FNSS's institutional competence stems from deep engineering expertise in tracked armored vehicle design and manufacturing. Tracked vehicles distribute weight across a wide contact surface, providing high maneuverability across all terrain types. Operating alongside tanks, these platforms effectively carry high-payload mission systems such as air defense systems, heavy turrets, mortars, and anti-tank missiles. Through this versatile design approach, FNSS has maintained its industry leadership by developing platform-specific solutions for each operational requirement.
The significance of FNSS to Turkish defense industry lies in its contributions to localization and technology transfer. Since producing its first vehicles in the 1990s, the company has manufactured over 2,200 ZMA and improved armored personnel carriers for the Turkish Armed Forces at approximately 80 percent local content. The 1997 ZMA export to the United Arab Emirates marked Turkey's first complete defense system export. Subsequent exports to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Malaysia, and the Philippines established Turkey as a global defense sector player.
The development trajectory of tracked armored vehicles reflects evolving military requirements. ZMA vehicles have earned user confidence in NATO and UN operations and remain the backbone of Turkish infantry. Next-generation platforms such as KAPLAN MT and KAPLAN ADA were developed to address symmetric and asymmetric warfare scenarios. KAPLAN ZPT was selected for Indonesia's 30-ton tracked personnel carrier program, with the first vehicle completing preliminary acceptance tests in September 2026.
In comparison with global defense industry standards, FNSS's tracked vehicle portfolio demonstrates NATO-compliant design and adaptability to diverse operational environments. The KAPLAN series tanks are successfully deployed in Indonesia and the Philippines. The framework agreement signed with CSG Defence in June 2026 opened the path for KARPAT medium tank production in Europe, strengthening FNSS's technology transfer and international cooperation strategy. Under modernization programs, existing vehicles are being integrated with autonomous capabilities and next-generation subsystems.
