The maritime edition of Türkiye’s National Technology Initiative, TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland (Mavi Vatan), is concluding with remarkable enthusiasm at the Istanbul Shipyard Command. Co-organized with the participation of the Ministry of National Defense, T3 Foundation, and TRT as a communications partner, the event showcases the nation’s latest naval technologies, reflecting Türkiye’s growing innovation in defense and marine engineering.
From early morning hours, visitors flocked to the shipyard to see the Turkish defense industry’s most advanced sea platforms up close. Families, students, and defense enthusiasts explored naval displays, witnessed demonstrations, and interacted with engineers presenting the technology behind Türkiye’s indigenous systems. The event not only highlights technological achievements but also strengthens public awareness of maritime defense capabilities.
The star of the exhibition is undoubtedly TCG Anadolu, Türkiye’s largest military vessel and the flagship of the Turkish Navy. Long lines formed along the dock as thousands awaited their turn to step aboard the amphibious assault ship. Onboard, visitors took photos and received briefings about TCG Anadolu’s amphibious transport, helicopter and UAV operations, and command-control capabilities. The ship has become a powerful symbol of Türkiye’s naval independence and industrial capacity.
In addition to TCG Anadolu, other prominent Turkish Navy vessels — including TCG İstanbul, TCG Burgazada, TCG Oruçreis, TCG Nusret, TCG Sakarya, and TCG Hızırreis — drew significant attention throughout the day. These ships, representing various mission classes from anti-submarine and mine warfare to reconnaissance and surface operations, demonstrate Türkiye’s broad maritime expertise and production potential.
The festival’s final day features sea and dockside demonstrations, award ceremonies for student competitions, and public technology showcases. For many attendees, TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland provides a firsthand glimpse of Türkiye’s indigenous naval engineering and symbolizes the country’s commitment to developing future generations inspired by the Blue Homeland vision — a legacy of innovation, self-reliance, and maritime pride.
