The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is pursuing comprehensive modernization projects as of 2025 with the goal of enhancing deterrence and achieving a more flexible, technology-driven force structure against multidimensional threats. These initiatives span land, air, and naval domains simultaneously and are largely shaped around indigenous and national defense industry solutions. Key focus areas of the 2025 modernization vision include unmanned systems, air defense capabilities, electronic warfare technologies, and network-centric warfare infrastructure. Beyond platform upgrades, this transformation also emphasizes digitalization in command, control, intelligence, and logistics, enabling faster decision-making and operational superiority.
Within the air domain, projects such as national combat aircraft programs, upgraded fighter jets, unmanned aerial vehicles, and integrated air defense systems stand out as core elements of modernization. For land forces, the focus is on next-generation armored vehicles, smart munitions, electronic warfare assets, and advanced reconnaissance and surveillance systems. Naval forces continue to strengthen their capabilities through national warship programs, submarine modernization, and unmanned surface and underwater vehicles, reinforcing Türkiye’s maritime power projection. Most of these projects are carried out under the coordination of the Presidency of Defence Industries, aiming to reduce external dependency and enhance technological self-sufficiency. TSK Modernization Projects 2025 represent not only a military upgrade but also a strategic transformation that elevates Türkiye’s position within the global defense ecosystem.
