The National Radio Project is one of Türkiye’s most critical initiatives aimed at meeting the defense and security sectors’ need for secure, uninterrupted, and fully independent communication. Under this project, domestically developed radio systems are designed to support the operational communications of the Turkish Armed Forces, law enforcement units, and other security organizations with high-level security standards. Built to withstand electronic jamming, interception, and cyber threats commonly encountered in modern operational environments, the National Radio Project has become an indispensable component of contemporary warfare. Through this initiative, Türkiye seeks to achieve full sovereignty and control over its strategic military communications infrastructure.
The National Radio Project goes beyond hardware development by adopting a comprehensive approach that includes advanced encryption technologies, software-defined architectures, and network-centric communication capabilities. The project is coordinated by the Presidency of Defence Industries and developed with the contributions of domestic defense companies, primarily ASELSAN. Designed for joint use across land, air, and naval forces, these systems enable secure transmission of voice, data, and imagery between units in real time. Thanks to the National Radio Project, Türkiye significantly strengthens its goals of technological self-reliance, export potential, and operational independence in the field of secure military communications.
