The MİLDEN Project is one of Türkiye’s most strategic defense initiatives, launched with the goal of achieving full independence in submarine technologies. Standing for National Submarine, MİLDEN represents the first submarine to be designed and developed with indigenous and national capabilities in line with the operational requirements of the Turkish Naval Forces. The project clearly demonstrates Türkiye’s advanced engineering expertise and growing competence in submarine design, while aiming to reduce foreign dependency and establish a sustainable and self-reliant naval power.

From a technical perspective, the MİLDEN Project encompasses advanced sonar systems, a national combat management system, and the integration of indigenous weapons and sensors. The submarine is planned to feature a low acoustic signature, extended underwater endurance, and enhanced deterrence capabilities. Moreover, the knowledge and experience gained through MİLDEN are expected to strengthen Türkiye’s future potential in submarine exports. MİLDEN is not merely a naval platform, but a long-term defense vision that will shape Türkiye’s strategic presence at sea.
