The Turkish Defense Ecosystem Map presents a comprehensive strategic framework that reveals the full scope of Türkiye’s indigenous and national defense industry vision. Main contractors, SMEs, start-ups, universities, and research centers operating across land, air, naval, space, and cyber security domains form the core building blocks of this ecosystem. In recent years, high-technology-based defense solutions have not only strengthened military capabilities but also positioned Türkiye as a competitive global player in terms of exports, employment, and technological independence. Mapping the defense ecosystem plays a critical role in strategic planning and sustainable growth by clearly identifying existing capabilities and specialization areas.
At the heart of the ecosystem are leading players such as ASELSAN in electronic warfare, radar, and sensor technologies; TUSAŞ in aerospace and aviation platforms; ROKETSAN in missile and rocket systems; HAVELSAN in command-control and software solutions; and BAYKAR in unmanned aerial vehicle technologies. Surrounding these prime contractors, hundreds of subcontractors strengthen the defense industry supply chain, increasing technological depth and integration. The Turkish Defense Ecosystem Map makes visible a wide spectrum of capabilities—from radar systems and air defense solutions to naval platforms and artificial intelligence–supported software—highlighting integration, cooperation, and localization rates. This structure stands as a concrete indicator of Türkiye’s goal to reduce external dependency and gain a strong position in global defense competition.
