Kirpi 2 is an MRAP-class (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) armored vehicle developed to deliver maximum protection against mines, IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), and ballistic threats in modern conflict environments. Designed based on extensive operational experience gained from previous Kirpi platforms, Kirpi 2 focuses on enhancing crew survivability in asymmetric warfare scenarios. Its V-shaped monocoque armored hull effectively deflects blast waves away from the vehicle, significantly reducing the impact of explosions on personnel. This structural design plays a critical role in increasing survival rates during mine and IED attacks. With its high troop-carrying capacity and optimized interior layout, Kirpi 2 provides a secure and ergonomic environment for long-duration missions. The vehicle’s multi-layered ballistic armor can be adapted to mission requirements, offering scalable protection against various threat levels.
From a security perspective, one of Kirpi 2’s key strengths is the integration of both passive and active protection systems. In addition to mine and ballistic protection, the vehicle can be equipped with CBRN defense systems to safeguard personnel against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. Blast-attenuating seats, five-point safety harnesses, and energy-absorbing interior materials significantly reduce the risk of injury following an explosion. 360-degree situational awareness systems and advanced camera technologies enhance convoy security and improve threat detection, particularly in urban operations. Furthermore, Kirpi 2’s compatibility with remote-controlled weapon stations allows the crew to engage threats without exposing themselves outside the vehicle. Combined, these capabilities position Kirpi 2 as a proven and reliable armored security platform that prioritizes personnel safety in high-risk operational environments.
