Gökdoğan is a short-range, high-maneuverability air-to-air missile developed by Türkiye to strengthen its national air combat capability. Designed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, it excels in within-visual-range engagements, offering high accuracy, modern avionics compatibility and fully independent domestic production. Built to counter highly agile enemy aircraft and UAVs, Gökdoğan fills a crucial gap in Türkiye’s air-to-air missile inventory and enhances its ability to maintain air superiority.

Technically, Gökdoğan features an advanced infrared seeker, precise control surfaces and sophisticated target-tracking algorithms that allow it to maintain lock and resist countermeasures throughout flight. In the terminal phase, the missile performs high-G maneuvers to intercept and neutralize the target with precision. Its induction into service not only reduces Türkiye’s reliance on foreign air-to-air munitions but also supports the creation of a fully integrated indigenous weapons ecosystem compatible with national fighter aircraft programs.
