The EIRS Radar System is an advanced long-range early warning radar developed by ASELSAN, operating in the S-band and equipped with AESA and digital beamforming technologies. Designed to detect a wide spectrum of threats—such as aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, anti-radiation missiles, low-RCS stealth targets, and ballistic missiles—EIRS provides high-precision 3D tracking covering range, altitude, and direction. Its simultaneous multi-beam capability allows the system to follow numerous targets at once and quickly relay data to air defense elements. EIRS can operate in both fixed and mobile configurations, enabling rapid deployment in tactical environments.
Technically, EIRS can track hundreds of targets simultaneously (around 200–300). Thanks to its AESA antenna architecture, the radar electronically steers its beams, enabling the detection of low-observable targets at extended distances. The system optimizes its performance using meteorological data and collaborates with command-and-control centers to share real-time information with other radar units and defense networks. Multiple EIRS units can perform data fusion and track handover seamlessly. Its high mobility—achieved by mounting subsystems on tactical vehicles—allows fast setup without fixed infrastructure. With these capabilities, EIRS plays a crucial role in both air and missile defense as a primary early warning asset.
