Bayraktar TB3, the world’s first UAV capable of taking off and landing on a short-deck ship, successfully conducted four autonomous sorties on the Turkish flagship TCG Anadolu on April 22, 2025. The tests were completed without any landing assistance, using advanced AI algorithms developed by Baykar.

Turkey’s AKSUNGUR UAV, powered by the domestically developed TEI-PD170 engine, reached 40,000 feet—setting a new altitude record for the national powerplant. The flight also tested ASELSAN’s AF500 camera and ASPİLSAN’s heated national battery at high altitude.

TUSAŞ announced that Turkey’s indigenous jet trainer HÜRJET has reached 1.2 Mach speed, marking a major milestone in supersonic flight. SSB President Haluk Görgün described the achievement as a new milestone in Turkey’s independent aerospace vision.

Under a new agreement between TUSAŞ and Delta-V, Turkey will launch a domestically produced micro-satellite into orbit using a national launch system for the first time. This milestone positions Turkey among a select group of nations with independent launch capability and could significantly impact future military and missile technologies.

German Chief of Defense Gen. Carsten Breuer visited Ankara at the invitation of Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Metin Gürak, holding key meetings at the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), ASELSAN, and TUSAŞ to discuss defense technology cooperation and strategic partnership opportunities.

Turkey’s HAVELSAN has achieved a new global milestone with its domestically developed ADVENT Combat Management System, now operational in four continents following its export to the Chilean Navy. Experts note that only a handful of countries can produce a comparable system.

ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci announced that the company aims for a 50% increase in both revenue and exports in 2025. The defense giant plans to expand its export network from 40 to 50 countries.

Turkey will donate the Doğan-class fast attack craft TCG Volkan to the Maldives. After maintenance and training phases, the vessel will be transferred and commissioned by mid-2025 to enhance the Maldives’ maritime defense capabilities.
