ASELSAN unveiled its financial results for the first nine months of 2026, demonstrating robust growth momentum. Revenue increased by 28 percent in real terms to 151.5 billion TL, while newly signed export contracts surged 34 percent to $1.9 billion. The company's backlog orders reached $30.7 billion, crossing the $30 billion mark for the first time in its history. These developments reflect the positive outcomes of ASELSAN's aselsaneXt transformation program.
ASELSAN holds a critical position as Turkey's most valuable company and a leading player in the defense industry. Since its establishment, the company has pioneered developments in electronic systems, radar, communications, and air defense technologies. In recent years, ASELSAN has diversified its product portfolio by investing in artificial intelligence-enabled urban security systems, subsurface technologies, and guided munitions systems. Research and development expenditures increased 36 percent to $1.3 billion, with accelerated progress in high-barrier-to-entry domains such as satellite technology, quantum computing, and underwater systems.
Air defense, radar, electronic warfare systems, subsurface systems, and AI-enabled solutions have been the primary drivers of ASELSAN's revenue growth during this period. The Backlog-to-Sales ratio reached 4.4, indicating a robust order pipeline extending into future years. EBITDA margin improved by 190 basis points to 26.8 percent, with operational efficiency metrics significantly exceeding sector averages. Within the Turkish defense industry ecosystem, ASELSAN's performance demonstrates the success of localization initiatives and national technology development efforts.
The company's capacity expansion investments increased 228 percent to $684 million. The first phase of the Oğulbey Technology Hub, the largest single defense industry investment in the republic's history, became operational during this period. New facilities such as the Guided Munitions Systems Production Center were commissioned, while robotics and automation infrastructure was strengthened. Production capacity and quality capabilities for air, sea, and land defense systems were enhanced. These investments support ASELSAN's objective to deliver its expanding order portfolio on schedule and achieve sustainable growth.
In the global defense industry context, ASELSAN's air defense systems are developed to NATO standards and hold a competitive position in international markets. The company's ASTRALINK satellite communications project has attracted significant international attention. ASELSAN, which advanced three positions to rank 40th on the Defense News Top 100 list and became the first Turkish defense company to enter Forbes Global 2000, maintains financial discipline (financial debt at 14 percent of assets, equity ratio at 55 percent) while strengthening global competitiveness.
