BREAKING NEWS
The Turkish defense industry has taken another innovative step in armored vehicle development, enhancing the safety of troops in high-risk zones. First introduced in 2013 by Otokar, the Cobra II has now been upgraded with a new MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) version. Already in service in Türkiye and 15 other countries worldwide, the Cobra series continues to evolve with advanced features tailored for operations in regions facing intense threats.
The new Cobra II stands out with a larger interior space and higher payload capacity compared to its predecessor. Its most remarkable advancement lies in the MRAP configuration, designed to deliver superior protection against landmines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). This enhancement significantly increases the survivability of security forces operating in asymmetric warfare environments. With its high ballistic protection, the Cobra II MRAP is capable of meeting modern battlefield requirements with greater efficiency.
Beyond its protective capabilities, the Cobra II also excels in mobility. It performs effectively under challenging terrain conditions while its low-silhouette design reduces the likelihood of detection by enemy forces. The vehicle can carry up to 11 personnel and is offered in both 3- and 5-door configurations, providing users with operational flexibility and versatility.
With this development, Otokar has once again highlighted the innovative capacity of the Turkish defense industry. The Cobra II MRAP not only strengthens Türkiye’s military power but also stands out as a reliable option for allied and partner nations around the world.
