Otokar has entered a new phase in its 1,059-unit COBRA II delivery program to Romania, launching local production preparations with a NATO-standard facility in Mediaș.

Otokar stated that local delays in Romania within the COBRA II armored vehicle project will not affect the overall schedule or strategic objectives of Türkiye’s largest single land vehicle export contract.

Otokar has ramped up production for Romania’s €857 million COBRA II order, the largest single armored vehicle export in Turkish defense industry history. The project includes 1,059 vehicles across 10 variants.

Under Turkey’s largest single armored vehicle export deal, Otokar will deliver 1,059 COBRA II 4x4 vehicles to Romania. Production has already started in Sakarya.

Turkish-made ARMA 6x6 and NMS YÖRÜK 4x4 armored vehicles have been delivered to NATO member Estonia, significantly boosting its ground defense capabilities through rapid deployment.

Defense companies traded on Borsa Istanbul delivered strong returns in 2024. Altınay Defense Technologies led the rally with a 133.5% increase, while ASELSAN gained 61.5%.

Turkish defense giant Otokar expanded exports to 41 countries in 2023, boosting military vehicle sales by 43% and unveiling the new ARMA II.

Morocco has signed a $136 million contract with Turkish defense company Otokar to procure 200 Cobra II armored vehicles with full support packages.
