Metin Gürak paid an official visit to Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), accompanied by Air Force Commander Gen. Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu. During the visit, the delegation received detailed briefings on the status of ongoing aviation and space programs, including project development timelines, production and integration stages, and testing and certification processes. The generals also evaluated design, prototyping, avionics integration, and quality assurance procedures that form the backbone of Türkiye’s defense industry ecosystem.
The visit highlighted the importance of TAI’s role in advancing national aerospace capabilities and maintaining progress according to established timelines, performance goals, and cost targets. The high-level inspection was seen as part of Türkiye’s broader effort to modernize the Turkish Armed Forces through indigenous technological solutions and to strengthen the country’s defense production infrastructure.
During the visit, Gen. Gürak and Gen. Kadıoğlu also met with TAI’s engineers and technical personnel to exchange insights on current and future projects. Discussions reportedly focused on supply chain coordination, subcontractor management, and increasing the localization rate of critical components used in defense platforms. Emphasis was placed on sustaining and expanding domestic capabilities in design, production, and maintenance to ensure long-term independence in air and space defense technologies.
The visit reflects Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to reinforcing institutional cooperation across the defense sector and accelerating project execution through improved coordination and strategic alignment.
