BREAKING NEWS
The Dock Landing Ship (LPD) tendered by the Defense Industry Presidency and later revised into a Dock Helicopter Ship (LHD) as part of the Amphibious Project, is being built by Sedef Shipyard. This project, modified to accommodate F-35 Lightning II fighter jets capable of vertical take-off and landing, is designed for operations in the Aegean, Black Sea, and Mediterranean, and if necessary, in the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. The main functions of the LPD include Force Transfer and Amphibious Operations, and the ship will also contribute to administrative and logistical functions, vehicle and personnel transport, command and control services, day and night helicopter operations, fire support, and emergency health services. It will also be used for Natural Disaster Assistance (NDA) operations.
