BREAKING NEWS
One of the leading companies of the Turkish defense industry, STM, is preparing to present its advanced naval platforms and unmanned systems to the Gulf market. The company will participate in the World Defense Show (WDS), which will be held between 8–12 February 2026 in Riyad, the capital of Saudi Arabia. At this major international defense exhibition, STM aims to highlight the level reached by Turkish engineering and national defense technologies.
In the field of military naval platforms, STM will display scale models of key projects that demonstrate its capabilities as a prime contractor and system integrator. Among these are TCG ISTANBUL (F-515), the first ship of the MİLGEM İstif Class and Türkiye’s first national frigate, the Pakistan Navy Fleet Tanker (PNFT) delivered in 2018, the STM-MPAC Fast Attack Craft, and the STM NETA Unmanned Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. These platforms reflect STM’s expertise in ship design, combat system integration, and naval engineering.
STM will also draw significant attention with its unmanned aerial systems, which have been successfully exported to multiple regions worldwide. The company will exhibit KARGU, Türkiye’s first national loitering munition and armed UAV exported to 15 countries across four continents. In addition, the TOGAN surveillance UAV, the BOYGA munition-dropping UAV, both already in service with the Turkish Armed Forces, and the newly fielded KarguFPV Kamikaze UAV will be presented to participants from the Gulf region.
STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz emphasized that around 65 percent of the company’s revenue comes from exports and that STM conducts defense and technology cooperation activities in nearly 50 countries. He stated that WDS 2026 is not only an opportunity to showcase products, but also a strategic platform to demonstrate the high standards achieved by Turkish engineering and to establish sustainable, long-term partnerships with friendly and allied nations in the Gulf region.
