BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s local and national defense industry initiatives continue to gain momentum as TİTRA Teknoloji has signed a strategic procurement contract with the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB). Valued at nearly $2 million, the agreement focuses on the development and supply of kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for operational use. This project represents a significant step toward meeting the increasing demand for loitering munitions in modern warfare through domestic solutions.
The kamikaze UAVs to be developed under the contract are expected to feature high-precision targeting, low radar visibility, and strong destructive capability. Designed to lock onto targets and neutralize them through self-destruction, these systems are particularly effective against asymmetric threats. Their ability to perform reconnaissance, surveillance, and immediate precision strike missions makes them a critical force multiplier on the battlefield while reducing risks to personnel.
The agreement also strengthens TİTRA Teknoloji’s domestic production capacity by prioritizing locally developed sub-components. This approach is expected to contribute directly to Turkey’s defense supply chain while enhancing technological self-sufficiency. With this project, TİTRA Teknoloji is anticipated to further advance its research and development capabilities in unmanned systems and expand its expertise in smart munition technologies.
Projects led by the Presidency of Defence Industries play a vital role in increasing the operational effectiveness of the Turkish Armed Forces and reinforcing Turkey’s deterrence posture. Kamikaze UAV systems are set to become a key element of Turkey’s evolving defense doctrine, while also improving the country’s standing in the global defense market.
