BREAKING NEWS
DORUK is designed to provide portable sensor superiority on the modern battlefield. Unlike standard thermal binoculars, it is not only an observation device but also a precision target coordinate generation system, capable of detecting, ranging, and geolocating targets in real time.
Operational Purpose and Role
The primary mission of DORUK is to enable dismounted personnel to:
Detect and identify targets day and night
Measure accurate target range
Calculate and transmit precise geographic coordinates
Support artillery and mortar fire correction
Provide situational awareness for tactical units
It plays a critical role in forward observer missions, border surveillance, special forces operations, and internal security tasks.
Doctrine and Concept of Employment
DORUK is typically used by:
Forward Observers (FO)
Reconnaissance units
Special operations forces
Border security personnel
The operational workflow is structured as follows:
Target detection via EO/IR sensors
Range measurement using eye-safe laser rangefinder
Heading and position acquisition via GPS and digital magnetic compass
Automatic target coordinate calculation
Transmission of coordinates through wired or radio communication
This integrated workflow significantly reduces engagement cycle time and enhances fire support accuracy.
System Architecture
DORUK consists of four main subsystems:
1. Sensor Suite
640x512 resolution cooled MWIR thermal imager
Daylight color TV camera with continuous optical zoom
Class 1 eye-safe laser rangefinder (
