BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye's defense industry continues to expand its international partnerships with significant steps toward regional and global collaboration. On January 30-31, the President of Defense Industries, Haluk Görgün, attended a key meeting in Abu Dhabi with leading Turkish companies and UAE officials. The primary goal of the gathering was to deepen defense industry cooperation, develop joint projects, and explore new areas of collaboration between the two nations.
During the talks, a total of 80 agenda items were discussed, focusing on the needs of both countries’ Naval and Air Forces. Görgün highlighted that these discussions were not only technical but also strategic in nature, aiming to build upon the momentum gained following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s official visit to the UAE in 2023. This meeting was considered a continuation of the growing defense partnership initiated by that visit.
Türkiye's strong export performance, advanced defense technologies, and proven production capacity make it an attractive partner for the UAE. Görgün emphasized that the feedback received from end users was highly positive, noting that satisfaction with Turkish defense products represents an important achievement for Türkiye on the international stage.
In addition to the main meeting, Görgün held a series of bilateral talks with top UAE defense officials and industry leaders. These discussions addressed not only current projects but also potential areas such as joint production, technology transfer, and research and development cooperation. Strengthening this partnership is expected to enhance both countries’ defense capabilities while contributing to greater regional security and stability.
