The Technology and Competency Meetings held in Berlin under the coordination of the SSB brought together Türkiye’s growing defense industry and highly qualified Turkish talent abroad.

The MARLIN unmanned surface vessel, developed by SEFİNE and ASELSAN, was tested with Kraken Robotics’ KATFISH synthetic aperture sonar system off Istanbul, focusing on the detection and classification of mine-like underwater targets.

ASELSAN’s KARAT system is set to enhance KIZILELMA with passive target detection and tracking capability, while also strengthening KAAN’s future air-to-air situational awareness.

ASELSAN is drawing attention with its sustainability, zero waste, and resource efficiency efforts. The company continues to expand its energy, water, and green transformation projects in line with its 2050 net-zero emissions roadmap.

ASELSAN signed two contracts worth a combined $166.45 million with Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries and a domestic platform manufacturer. The agreements cover the supply of guidance systems and electro-optic systems.

BEDEX 2026 has opened in Brussels, highlighting Europe’s defense industry agenda of production, innovation and international cooperation, while emphasizing Türkiye’s growing role in defense.

ASELSAN underlined that electro-optical systems play a decisive role in modern warfare through passive detection, targeting, situational awareness, and AI-supported decision-making processes.
