BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN showcased its military 5G-compatible ARTLINK MESH 1000 network-based communications system at the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026 held in Spain. Conducted in collaboration with Keysight, the live demonstration featured the system developed for unmanned platforms and tactical communications requirements, tested in environments simulating challenging operational conditions. During the demonstration, the system maintained uninterrupted data transmission even under intense electronic jamming scenarios, validating its operational reliability.
ASELSAN stands as Turkey's leading organization in defense electronics systems, with extensive experience in communications technology localization and advanced technology development. The company's portfolio of radar, electronic warfare, and communications systems continuously evolves to meet the Turkish Armed Forces' modern requirements. The ARTLINK MESH 1000 project represents a domestically developed technology solution designed to address the communications needs of unmanned aerial vehicles and tactical units within this framework.
ARTLINK MESH 1000 is a military 5G-compatible MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network) based system developed to meet next-generation tactical communications requirements. The system enables mobile platforms to communicate directly with each other without requiring centralized infrastructure, and through its self-organizing network architecture, autonomously adapts to dynamic network conditions. When connections are interrupted or network topology changes, the system automatically establishes alternative communication routes, and through its GPS-independent operation capability, supports mission execution in signal-restricted operational environments.
From the Turkish defense industry perspective, domestically developed communications systems like ARTLINK MESH 1000 hold critical importance for operational independence and technological sovereignty. With the expansion of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV/UCAV) ecosystem, the need for reliable and resilient communications infrastructure has increased significantly. The system exemplifies ASELSAN's research and development capacity in line with objectives to increase localization rates and expand domestic technology utilization. Its flexible and modular architecture, configurable according to different data rate, range, and frequency band requirements, facilitates system adaptation.
At the international level, NATO-standard communications systems (such as Link 16 and Link 22 data link protocols) and 5G-based military networks occupy prominent positions in advanced nations' defense portfolios. ARTLINK MESH 1000's integration with Keysight's channel emulator and live demonstration indicate that Turkish defense industry products are compatible with international standards. The system's resilience in high-density electronic jamming environments positions it with export potential for addressing similar requirements of NATO allies.
