BREAKING NEWS
Baykar's domestically developed K2 Kamikaze Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) demonstrated its autonomous and artificial intelligence capabilities during operational testing. Five platforms launched from Keşan Flight Training and Test Center successfully completed formation flights in right echelon, line, and V configurations over the Saros Gulf. The aircraft maintained precise positioning within the formation using artificial intelligence and sensor systems while executing assigned missions.
Operating through advanced AI-driven swarm coordination, the platform successfully executed Turan and wall formation patterns. Its navigation architecture is designed to function in electronic warfare environments where global positioning systems are unavailable or subject to jamming. The gimbal camera and night-vision capable camera system enable visual terrain scanning for position estimation, allowing autonomous navigation without GNSS signals.
With a maximum takeoff weight of 800 kg, the K2 can carry 200 kg warhead-equipped munitions. The platform features a range exceeding 2,000 kilometers, speeds above 200 km/h, and endurance surpassing 13 hours, enabling long-range strategic missions. Its EO/IR gimbal camera system provides reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities alongside visual target lock and precision strike features. Satellite data link enables both line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) operations.
