BREAKING NEWS
The ZAHA (Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle), a key bridge between Turkey’s land and naval forces, is set to take center stage at IDEF 2025 with a significant firepower upgrade. Serving successfully in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory since 2023, the ZAHA will be showcased in its new configuration featuring integrated anti-tank missile systems. Developed by FNSS, this upgraded version enhances amphibious assault capabilities, delivering effective firepower against heavy armored targets, infantry positions, light vehicles, and aerial threats during coastal operations.
At the heart of this innovation is the newly developed ÇAKA 30/AT-O Remote-Controlled Turret (RCT), designed specifically for maritime conditions. It is armed with a CANİK VENOM LR 30 mm automatic cannon and two ROKETSAN OMTAS anti-tank missiles. The system offers superior strike accuracy, reduced recoil, and high reliability. Alongside it, FNSS will also present the ÇAKA AT-K configuration, featuring a CANiK M2 QCB 12.7 mm heavy machine gun paired with two ROKETSAN KARAOK short-range anti-tank missiles. Both turret systems can be easily integrated not only into land platforms but also onto naval assets such as patrol boats, assault craft, and unmanned surface vehicles.
Serkan Balbay, FNSS Director of Vehicle Electronics and Weapon Systems, emphasized ZAHA’s strategic role in Turkey’s amphibious operations, stating, “ZAHA is a critical force multiplier that enables effective amphibious assaults and coastal dominance. With its new anti-tank weapon configuration, it will provide Turkish marines with enhanced firepower and protection.” Balbay added that the system’s export potential is growing, noting strong interest from countries with extensive coastlines such as Indonesia.
Entirely designed and produced in Türkiye, the ÇAKA turret family represents a milestone in local defense technology. With indigenous fire control computers, sensor systems, and software, FNSS continues to strengthen Turkey’s position among the world’s few producers of amphibious combat vehicles. The upgraded ZAHA, when integrated with platforms such as the TCG Anadolu amphibious assault ship, will significantly enhance Türkiye’s ability to project power from sea to shore, offering a decisive edge in modern amphibious warfare.
