Sarsılmaz Board Chairman Aliş stated that the NATO Summit held in Ankara served as a strategic platform where the global security architecture was being reshaped and laid the foundation for new defense industry partnerships. He emphasized that Turkey has become one of the alliance's reliable solution providers through defense capabilities developed in recent years, noting that the summit offered significant opportunities for joint production, technology development, and long-term project collaboration.
Aliş stressed that the NATO Summit is not merely a forum for discussing security policies, but rather a platform addressing contemporary threats such as hybrid warfare, cyber security, air defense, unmanned systems, and ammunition supply chain security. He noted that these challenges require stronger coordination among allied nations and deeper defense industry cooperation. The summit, he stated, reaffirmed Turkey's strategic position within the alliance and demonstrated the country's progress in defense technology on the international stage.
Highlighting Turkey's geopolitical location, operational experience gained in the field, strong military capabilities, developing engineering infrastructure, and rapidly advancing domestic defense sector, Aliş emphasized that Turkey ranks among nations making concrete contributions to NATO's security. He underscored that these developments have positioned Turkey not only as a security policy actor but also as a central player in defense technologies, production capacity, and export potential.
Regarding the defense sector, Aliş identified the creation of new frameworks for joint production, shared procurement, technology transfer, and long-term project partnerships as among the summit's most significant outcomes. He noted that contemporary security needs can no longer be met through individual products alone, requiring simultaneous consideration of integrated systems, sustainable supply chains, ammunition continuity, platform compatibility, advanced technology production, and rapidly scalable capacity. Aliş assessed that Turkey's flexible production capabilities, engineering expertise, and field-driven product development approach position it as a strong solution partner for NATO nations.
Aliş stated that future opportunities will emerge among NATO members and allied nations in system integration for land, air, and sea platforms, unmanned systems, smart ammunition, air defense components, weapon systems, electronic and mechatronic solutions, maintenance-repair-modernization activities, and joint production models. He noted that Sarsılmaz views its contribution to Turkey's defense sector vision as a national responsibility, and the company continues to develop its capabilities—from production and engineering to research and development, system integration, and international cooperation—in alignment with the country's strategic objectives.
