BREAKING NEWS
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has taken a major step forward in Turkey’s national satellite capabilities through a strategic partnership with DELTA V. Under the “High-Resolution Micro Satellite System” project, TUSAŞ will integrate DELTA V’s domestically developed propulsion system into its electro-optical micro satellite, ensuring that both launch and in-orbit operations rely entirely on national technologies.
The satellite’s ground and flight software, power and interface units, and onboard computers are being developed indigenously by TUSAŞ engineers. With the preliminary design definition phase successfully completed, efforts are now focused on the critical design phase. Mission control operations will be conducted through the Akıncı Ground Station at TUSAŞ facilities, providing secure and centralized data, telemetry, and command management throughout the mission.
Following the deployment of the first satellite, TUSAŞ plans to produce additional micro satellites offering 0.9-meter and 0.5-meter ground sampling distance (GSD) resolutions. This approach will pave the way for a fully functional satellite constellation, significantly improving imaging frequency and coverage. The enhanced observation capacity will not only serve defense and reconnaissance purposes but also support environmental monitoring, disaster management, precision agriculture, and smart city planning.
The collaboration between TUSAŞ’s electro-optical payload expertise and DELTA V’s propulsion technologies positions Turkey as a competitive player in the micro satellite market. Developed entirely through national resources, this initiative reduces foreign dependency while opening new avenues for export and international cooperation.
