BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense industry has introduced a groundbreaking innovation aimed at reducing the physical burden on soldiers and enhancing operational efficiency. At the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) in Istanbul, BİTES unveiled its multi-purpose robotic dog, “Keçi.” Designed to serve as a new field assistant for Turkish soldiers, Keçi stands out with its advanced mobility, load capacity, and adaptability to harsh terrains.
According to BİTES General Manager Uğur Coşkun, Keçi’s four-legged design allows it to maneuver effectively in steep and mountainous regions. With a payload capacity of up to 80 kilograms and the ability to carry 25 kilograms continuously for two hours, the robotic dog provides vital logistical support for soldiers in demanding environments. Its capability to move through mud, water, and other challenging obstacles further enhances its value as a versatile tool on the battlefield.
One of Keçi’s most notable features is its integration with the ATOK system, enabling real-time image transmission. This significantly boosts situational awareness for soldiers and makes the robot an effective asset in reconnaissance and surveillance missions. Its user-friendly interface and flexible programming also allow it to adapt to various roles, ranging from logistics support to combat zone exploration. Notably, Keçi can operate in difficult areas such as caves used by terrorist groups, providing critical support in high-risk operations.
BİTES continues to develop Keçi’s autonomous capabilities and is capable of delivering a customized version within six months based on operational requirements. This flexibility not only serves the Turkish Armed Forces but also positions Keçi as a promising candidate for international defense markets. The robotic dog represents a new era of robotic support systems, designed to enhance soldier safety, reduce battlefield fatigue, and increase mission success.
