The Turkish Land Forces have received the first batch of Derman vehicles, developed under the 8x8 Wheeled Container Carrier Vehicle (DROPS) Project, initiated by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and carried out by Koluman AŞ. These next-generation logistics support vehicles will play a vital role in rapidly transporting armored vehicles, tanks, ammunition, and damaged equipment to operational zones, significantly enhancing the army’s combat readiness.
At the delivery ceremony, Haluk Görgün, President of the Defense Industry Agency, highlighted the Derman’s strong capabilities, emphasizing its high ballistic protection, superior performance in steep and rugged terrains, and enhanced logistical support capacity. He also congratulated the engineers and teams involved in the project, underlining his belief that the vehicles will make a substantial contribution on the battlefield.
According to the project plan, by the end of 2023, a total of 70 Derman vehicles, 70 container transport platforms, 195 units of 1CC 20-foot containers, and 40 armored vehicle transport platforms will be delivered. This large-scale program is expected to significantly improve the Turkish Armed Forces’ logistical and operational capabilities.
The Derman not only provides advanced logistics support but also stands out with its robust design, adaptability to modern warfare conditions, and reliability in military operations. This delivery marks a strategic step for both Türkiye’s defense industry and the Land Forces, further strengthening the country’s engineering expertise and operational power.
