The IDA Turkey 2026 event opened in Ankara, bringing together defense and aviation sector stakeholders. The localization rate in the defense industry reached 80 percent, with annual exports approaching 11 billion dollars.

Defense Industry Agency Chief Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün stated that localization efforts in defense projects begin at the original design phase and extend to the production of critical materials. Turkey's localization rate has increased from 20% to 83% over the past two decades.
