BREAKING NEWS
At the 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025), Roketsan took another major step in its ongoing localization initiative. Hosted by the Ministry of National Defense, supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), and organized under the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV), the event at Istanbul Expo Center served as a stage for Roketsan’s commitment to a fully independent defense production ecosystem.
During the fair, Roketsan signed “Localization Cooperation Memorandums” with six domestic companies — Armsto Konnektör, Asil Çelik, Sensorsan Sensör Teknolojileri, Iveo Elektronik Savunma Sistemleri, Korel Elektronik, and Pavezyum Kimya. The signing ceremony was attended by Roketsan General Manager Murat İkinci, Deputy General Manager for Supply Chain and Logistics Halid Bulut, and executives from the participating companies.
These agreements aim to localize critical subsystems used in missile and rocket production, including sensors, connectors, electronic boards, special steel alloys, and chemical components. The initiative will enhance supply chain resilience, minimize foreign dependency, and protect production continuity against export restrictions. Under the slogan “Localization is not a choice, but a necessity for our future,” Roketsan continues to expand domestic participation in high-tech defense manufacturing.
A key enabler of this effort is the “Yarın için Yüksel” (Rise for Tomorrow) platform, launched by Roketsan last year. Accessible at www.yarinicinyuksel.com.tr,the platform allows supplier candidates to apply directly and integrates capability evaluation, auditing, and qualification processes in a single ecosystem. The platform strengthens collaboration, increases visibility, and helps small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) join Turkey’s defense industry supply chain more efficiently.
Roketsan Deputy General Manager Halid Bulut emphasized that the newly signed memorandums represent both a goodwill gesture and a concrete step toward a more self-reliant defense ecosystem. Bulut called on other sector stakeholders to join this national effort, highlighting that localization ensures supply security, cost optimization, and sustainable quality. The new partnerships formed at IDEF 2025 are expected to further enhance Roketsan’s capacity to produce critical missile and rocket components domestically, advancing Turkey’s defense independence goals.
