Twenty Turkish defense companies are participating in Kuwait’s Gulf Defense and Aerospace Exhibition to explore new export channels and deepen regional cooperation.

Minister Mustafa Varank emphasized at the Turkish Defense Industry Summit that young innovators will drive Turkey’s national technology initiative. He highlighted the growing strength of domestic defense technologies.

Turkey signed a mass-production contract with BMC for 250 Altay main battle tanks, including lifecycle support and technology center establishment. First delivery is expected in 18 months.

SAHA EXPO 2018 will feature the latest technologies of Turkey’s defense industry. ASELSAN will initiate the localization of more than 170 imported products through domestic suppliers.

At the EFES-2018 Exercise, 35 Turkish defense companies displayed their latest technologies. From UAVs to armored vehicles, many systems were showcased for the first time.

Turkey’s defense industry kicked off 2018 with fast-paced deliveries of UAVs, ATAK helicopters and kamikaze drones, significantly enhancing the operational capabilities of security forces.

Turkey’s first indigenous air-to-air missiles, GÖKDOĞAN and BOZDOĞAN, developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, will be showcased for the first time at IDEF 2017. The missiles are designed to enhance air superiority and can be launched from F-16 fighter jets.

Otokar increased its armored vehicle production by 36% and sales by 32% in one year, strengthening its position as Turkey’s leading land systems manufacturer.
