BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye has reached another important milestone in its national air-to-air missile development program. BOZDOĞAN and GÖKDOĞAN, developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, successfully struck their targets with pinpoint accuracy during their latest high-intensity test firings. These achievements mark significant progress for Türkiye’s air combat capabilities and highlight the growing maturity of its indigenous missile technologies.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır shared the successful test results on his social media account, describing BOZDOĞAN and GÖKDOĞAN as the “unshakable two claws of the sky homeland.” Kacır emphasized that these missiles represent Türkiye’s advanced engineering, relentless dedication, and vision of full technological independence. The minister also shared footage showing both missiles hitting their airborne targets with full precision, giving the public a clear view of the systems’ exceptional performance.
According to Kacır, the BOZDOĞAN missile features thrust-vector control, granting it superior maneuverability in complex aerial engagements. Its advanced infrared seeker allows it to track targets with high accuracy, making it highly effective against agile airborne threats. This combination positions BOZDOĞAN as a powerful asset in Türkiye’s short-to-medium-range air combat inventory.
GÖKDOĞAN, on the other hand, is designed to achieve full accuracy even under challenging environmental conditions. With its advanced seeker technology and optimized guidance algorithms, the missile delivers outstanding performance in beyond-visual-range air engagements. Minister Kacır highlighted that both missiles showcased “excellent” results in the latest trials and reaffirmed Türkiye’s determination to achieve further milestones in the skies.
These successes underline Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening its air superiority with nationally produced munitions and reducing foreign dependency in critical defense technologies. The continued progress of BOZDOĞAN and GÖKDOĞAN demonstrates the country’s expanding capabilities in modern air warfare systems.
