The 17th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF 2025) concluded in Istanbul with record-breaking results, underscoring Türkiye’s growing influence in the global defense sector. Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defense, supported by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), and managed by KFA Fuarcılık under the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV), the fair showcased the engineering excellence and export ambitions of the Turkish defense ecosystem.
According to SSB President Haluk Görgün, the total contract volume reached $9 billion, with 65% of all agreements directed toward exports. The event brought together 1,491 participating companies from 103 countries, hosted 231 official delegations, and attracted more than 120,000 visitors.
IDEF 2025 also served as a global innovation hub: 26 new defense products were unveiled, and over 1,100 products were displayed for the first time. Additionally, 270 signing ceremonies were held, highlighting Türkiye’s strong industrial partnerships and its expanding export network.
Görgün emphasized that these results represent more than just trade statistics — they reflect Türkiye’s commitment to domestic production and strategic independence in defense. “This is not merely a fair balance sheet,” he stated, “but a reflection of our national defense architecture’s global reach.”
He extended gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for his visionary leadership and to the Ministry of National Defense, TSKGV, and all participating companies and delegations for contributing to this success. The scale of IDEF 2025 demonstrated that Türkiye’s defense industry has evolved into a mature, export-oriented ecosystem capable of shaping international defense markets through innovation, collaboration, and technology transfer.
