BREAKING NEWS
Turkey’s defense and aerospace industry reached a historic milestone in August 2025, setting a new record in export performance. According to data shared by Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), the sector achieved $834 million in exports during August, marking a 97.3% increase compared to the same month of the previous year. Between January and August, total exports surged by 45%, reaching $5.418 billion — a strong indicator of Turkey’s expanding global footprint in high-technology, value-added defense products.
Görgün emphasized that the SSB continues to focus on ensuring sustainable export growth through international cooperation, advanced technology production, and innovation-driven development. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between prime contractors and SMEs in strengthening the overall defense ecosystem. “This chain of success — from main contractors to small and medium-sized enterprises — will continue to grow together. Our aim is to achieve the export goals set by our President and further advance Turkey’s global defense leadership,” Görgün said.
The August record reflects the effectiveness of Turkey’s export-oriented defense strategy, which integrates offset programs, technology transfer, and certification processes with global standards. The growing export portfolio includes products and platforms across diverse domains — from land, air, and naval systems to advanced electronics, avionics, and missile technologies.
The momentum achieved in the first eight months suggests that the sector is on track to meet, and potentially exceed, its annual export targets. Görgün concluded his remarks by congratulating all companies, engineers, technicians, and SSB personnel who contributed to this success, underlining the agency’s unwavering mission: “For a stronger Turkey powered by national technologies, we will continue to work tirelessly.”
