BREAKING NEWS
Roketsan has entered a new phase of production and integration across land, air, naval and space platforms within the scope of its $6.5 billion contracts signed with the Presidency of Defence Industries. These contracts cover strengthening Türkiye’s integrated air defense architecture "Çelik Kubbe," mass production of strategic missile systems and advancements in anti-tank and space technologies. Roketsan CEO Murat İkinci emphasized that test and production activities for Türkiye’s longest-range and fully indigenous ballistic missile, TAYFUN, are continuing at full speed.
Highlighting TAYFUN’s high strike precision, hypersonic speeds and strong resistance to electronic warfare, İkinci stated that the system can operate effectively in all weather and environmental conditions. The missile’s rapid readiness, mobility and logistical advantages provide significant operational flexibility on the battlefield. As Türkiye’s most advanced ballistic missile capability, TAYFUN continues to strengthen the country’s deterrence posture.
Another major technological advancement is the ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System, capable of detecting and destroying mini/micro UAVs and drones with its laser-based engagement capability. Entering serial production in 2023, ALKA is currently the Turkish Armed Forces’ only operational energy weapon. Its enhanced performance against FPV drones, AI-supported vulnerability analysis, low-cost engagements and ability to neutralize threats without collateral damage make ALKA one of Türkiye’s most important solutions against asymmetric threats.
In the naval domain, the submarine-launched version of the ATMACA anti-ship missile—known as AKATA—represents a major leap in underwater deterrence. With a range of up to 250 kilometers and a high-explosive warhead, AKATA provides Türkiye with a capability owned by only a few nations. Roketsan plans to integrate AKATA into Turkish Navy submarines and later offer the system to allied countries.
Roketsan’s 2025 R&D budget exceeding 10.5 billion TL underscores its commitment to future-oriented projects, including satellite launch systems, advanced materials and next-generation weapon technologies. The SHIMSEK-2 Satellite Launch Vehicle marks an important step towards enabling Türkiye to place satellites into sun-synchronous orbit. At IDEF’25, more than 60 advanced systems showcased Türkiye’s growing technological presence on the global defense stage.
Looking ahead to 2026, Roketsan aims to increase production capacity, accelerate deliveries and expand export-focused growth. Strengthening local manufacturing, enhancing its supplier ecosystem and developing technologies that shape the future battlefield will remain core priorities. With continuous innovation and a strong engineering workforce, Roketsan is committed to reinforcing Türkiye’s defensive power while advancing its global presence in the defense industry.
